By examining the current status of resettlement in eastern, central and western areas of the farmers who have lost their lands, this paper analyzes the issues in current practice of the policy for resettlement of these landless farmers across many regions, such as existing violations of the farmers' consumer rights, the creation of large number of new urban poors, and the problem of villages within cities. It proposes alternative methods for resettlement of these landless farmers.

Based on China's eastern, central and western peasants inspect the state of housing resettlement, sociology, urban science, economics in terms of analysis of the current implementation of peasants around the housing that exist in the resettlement policy for farmers against consumer rights, the new urban poor generated and the large number of "city" and so on, put forward alternative housing resettlement of landless peasants mode.
