Could you tell us an embarrasing experinece?

A few years ago, Song Chuyu of the Taiwanese Qinmindang, was on a formal visit to China. The dean of Qinghua University was going to hand him a piece of calligraphy, wanted to read it first, but couldn't. He didn't know how to pronounce the character (亻+瓜 kua). Somebody whispered in his ear: "gua", which the dean repeated aloud.
So, the dean of a prestigious university who doesn't know how to pronounce a Chinese charakter during a television broadcast, that's embarrasing.
