目前全市最大的展览场所——济南国际展览中心正在紧张建设之中。它位于济南舜耕路舜耕山庄以西，背靠风景秀丽、景色怡人的千佛山，是为迎接2002中国济南信息技术创新国际论坛暨博览会专门建造的。建筑面积4.1万平方米，展览和会议部分为2.5万平方米，设有1万多平方米的地下停车场，并备有地下超市和快餐。楼体设计采用欧式建筑风格、钢构架结构，突出环保性和高科技特点，气势宏伟，外观典雅。展览区分上下两层，共设1000多个展位，内部设有国内先进的同声传译系统等先进设施，每一个展位实现了宽带上网、千兆到位。车库和展览区实行计算机管理，配有大屏幕显示系统和远红外线监控设备，实现了信息的及时传输。该工程由济南市建筑设计院设计，济南市四建集团总承包，济南市专门成立了舜耕会展指挥中心，先后召开了8次工作调度会，及时解决施工中出现的困难和问题。目前已完成约60%的工作量约4000万元，完成了八个分项工程和施工队伍、设备材料的招标工作，投资总额约为9800万元,全部工程将于9月底建成完工，确保10月国内外企业布展参会。
