I thought a better way to phrase this would be:
A lack of communication in classroom would contribute to a less efficient learning while at the same time makes the students even more reticent about their own ideas.

Not only does lack of communication within the classroom weaken the students' ability, but also an adverse influence psychologically exists in the students.
