英语书上的句子！！！我有点搞不清楚...

英语书上有这样一句句子：
IF YOU leave the water running while you wash the dishes,you can waste 135 litres of water----enough to wash a whole car!
它在WHILE后面跟的是WASH，wash是延续性动词吗？ 那are washing可以吗？、

wash是延续性动词.
不可以换成are washing.while在这里的用法是表示同时发生的动作，因此时态要保持一致，主句用了一般现在时，从句只能用一般现在时

不适合。

while you wash the dishes 是说“当你洗碟的时候”

while you are washing the dishing 是说“当你正在洗碟”

前者强调事情的陈述，后者强调动作的发生过程，意思上略有不同，仔细品味

像 i am going to school 和i go to school 一样

wash表示平常的行为，washing表示某一次，不合句意
while本意是在。。。期间不用进行时
