1：none of us has ever been to japan.
none of the passengers are aware of the danger.
2: neither of the books is of any use to me.
neither are suitable for a newspaper.
请问，上面两组句子，为什么动词有的用单数有的就用复数？none of us,none of passengers,neither of the books,neither不都是表示单数么？为什么两组不统一使用单数呢？

none作为代词，可以是指代单数、也可以是复数名词，根据句意来选择一个合适的动词，比如你这里的例子1就是这样翻译的：
1. 没有一个人曾经。。。
乘客们都没有意识到危险。
而如果把第一句的动词改成复数，第二个句子的动词改成单数；翻译上就变成： 我们都没有去过日本。
没有一个乘客意识到有危险。
第二组的例子是一样的道理。neither可指代单或复数名词，所以看你想重点表达什么意思了。
翻译为： 没有一本书是对我有用的。 这些东西都不适合报纸。
none of us 是我们其中任何一个人都不，是个人 ，所以用单数 。
none of the passengers 是一样的，其中任何一个乘客，强调任何一个。
neither of the books neither are suitable 一样的
