for a day和from Australia都是adverbial（状语），都修饰arrived。
for a day是时间状语
from Australia是地点状语

貌似没有later in the morning这一说，Early in the morning比较常见，表示一大早，morning可以指整个上午，early in the morning就是上午的一开始。

in the morning 作状语。如
I went shopping early in the morning.
这里in the morning修饰went。

记住：状语修饰谓语（动词）或者整个句子！

early in the morning 肯定不是一个词啊，它是词组，作时间状语。
常用的介词不多，可以把它们记住。
从句是有完整的句子结构的，一个完整的句子一定要有谓语，而early in the morning 没有谓语，连动词都没有。
