recalled有被唤起的意思， 而这里的主语是 The TV series,

在状语从句中如：____ the memories of several generations，中间那个动词ing时是主动的。过去分词时是被动的。

如果用recalled就是说电视剧的记忆被唤醒了。显然错。应该是电视剧主动去唤醒。
