我的疑问是在A和B选项，collect 也有“聚积，积聚，积累”之意：to gradually increasein amount in a place; to gradually obtain more and more of sth in a place. 而accumulate表“积聚，积累”：to gradually get more and more of sthe over a period of time.
你们认为应该选哪个呢？希望给出解释，thanks ：）

accumulate 有：大量聚积的意思
沙子是大量聚积在河口处
我个人认为accumulate更为合适，而collect更多是形容堆积（堆积在家具上的尘土，灰尘之类，表现不出出大量聚积的意思）
个人看法
选B。
collect 强调“由分散在不同的地方而集合到一起的过程”，如 A crowd soon collected at the scene of the accident.
accumulate 强调“经过比较长的时间数量由少积多的积累”，如 Dust quickly accumulates if we don't sweep our room.
collect 是主观的整理鉴别收集之意，accumulate堆积，积累的意思。
所以就选B了。
选A
虽然两者都有积聚的意思，但是accumulate偏向于时间层面上的积累，collect强调空间地域方面的汇集，聚合，一般因地势造成的沙土灰尘等的积聚用collect
