Disabled People South Africa (DPSA) has as it`s motto "Nothing About Us Without Us" in recognition of the need for disabled people to directly promote the human rights and development of all South Africans with disabilities.

目标：
有成效且有效率的创立一个让所有有残人士都可以拥有平等的社会，政治和经济融合的环境。
历史：
由于看到了需要一个能代表残疾人的组织来计划和运行有利于残疾人的项目的需求， 残疾人于1984年建立南非残疾人组织，一个有150个成员的自发组织。 南非残疾人组织在南非为残疾人撑开了一个民主的伞， 为在联合国有着观察者身份的国际残疾人协会承认。
结构：
会员组织是通过在每个省被称为省份发展小组（PDT）的领导结构来组织的， 每个小组同时也制定一个代表进驻南非残疾人组织的委员会。
日常管理是执行委员会，项目工作人员和省份发展的协调者的职责。
南非残疾人组织的总部设在Cape镇（开普镇），有9个省办公室，分别在Mpumalanga, Northern Province（北省）, Gauteng, Eastern Cape（东开普）, KwaZulu/Natal, Western Cape（西开普）, Free State（自由州）, Northern Cape（北开普） 和 North-West（北西省）。
北开普和北西省的省办公室目前由于资金缺乏而没有运作。
