两道题答案都是A项，第二个懂了，但是第一个为什么不用who呢？不是在从句中作主语的吗？

1.关系代词whom 引导的非限制定语从句且在从句中作介词"of"的宾语,所以用宾格"whom"原句加上连词"and"还可以改成一个并例句如下:

2.whoever引导的宾语从句并在从句中作主语,所以用主格.

分析从句你也可以清楚的发现从句缺主语. whoever 无论谁...
当然如果你觉得whoever理解起来比较抽像
whoever=anyone who 相当于先行词+关系代词
原句转化一个定语从句如下:
In this university a medal with ten thousand dollars is given to "anyone who " gains success in science every two years.

因为连接词做的是most of的宾语啊，也就是所谓的介宾结构。介宾结构中的宾语若是代词，必须是宾格。这个规矩是绝对的，除了 whomever or whoever 这两个代词。
他们是例外，我查了若干英语相关文献，他两的判定如下。

anyone + he = whoever
anyone + him = whomever， 然后根据他在其后从句中的成分判定，作宾语用whomever，做主语则用whoever。
