感恩节的由来是在1620年，著名的“五月花号”船满载清教徒102来到印第安的土地上，最后只有50人活了下来，印第安人给他们送来了生活用品，帮助了他们，后来，就专门设立了这个节日跟鞋印第安人。
在节日上，人们通常要吃烤火鸡，玩南瓜游戏，餐桌上摆放水果和蔬菜。中间还常常放上一个大南瓜，周围堆放些苹果、玉米和干果。亲戚朋友聚在一起庆祝着个节日。
