紧急求助,该如何分析the long way !!!

She would lift the heavy bag,load it on her narrow shoulders,and carry it the long way home.
不是很明白the long way home这是什么用法，为什么这样写”扛很长一段路回到家，如果别的方法表达，怎么表达？

the long way home这里是名词短语作状语,而且还不好用on her long way home来代替,为什么呢?

因为on one's way home表示在某人回家的路上, 可能接发生了什么事情,看到了什么。但这里很明显不是这个意思，是carry这个动作要延续一段路程，就是the long way home。有点像twenty minute's walk/two hours by train, 这种表示一段时间的距离的用法。

way home 指的就是回家的路
当你说回家时是不家介词的 直接就说go home
加了介词the way to home 就是个语法错误
你也可以说 the long way which can reach home 但是the way home 要简便得多

the long way 可以理解为副词
