1.I must make full use of the time (there is ) left to me and as much as I can for the people.这个句子为什么用括号当中的there is 呢？怎么解释？

2.It is not uncommon for (there to be) problems of communication between old and young.括号中填的内容又作何解释？

1.不用括号中的there is的话是过去分词left直接作time的定语，用了括号中的there is变为一个定语从句，即the time which there is left to me...(which省略了),两种说法从语法上来说都没有问题，多出there is某种程度上强调了时间的存在性，即充分利用现有的时间，语气更强烈……

2.不用括号中的there to be即一般的陈述句，陈述一个事实，年轻人与年长者出现沟通通上的问题并不稀奇，而用了there to be增加了存在的语气，如某人在对当前情况作总结：出现年轻人与年长者沟通困难这样的问题并不稀奇

可以理解吗？呵呵
