more than a student 后是用ARE?还是IS???

要注意，
more than a student = 不单纯是个学生
more than one student = 多于一个学生

根据就近原则，应该用 is

are
如果是more students than one 就用is

语境？语境？？
数目上more当然用are
身份上more（即一个人兼有学生之外的身份）当然就用is
说明白啊

用is, 虽然此主语表示的是复数意义，但是谓语动词要用单数形式，类似的还有many a,如Many a studen has been there.
如果是more students than one 后面则用are.
