why it's better to be a woman Several months ago, my friend Chip wrote an essay entitled, Why It's Better to Be a Man. While it included a few convincing arguments (men don't have to carry purses; men have less to shave), I was disappointed he could only come up with 10 reasons. After all the time I've spent listening to men rave about their units — not to mention enduring the phallic homages played out in skyscrapers, modern art and heavy metal — you would think there would be more than 10 lousy reasons.
