徐新，指挥家、音乐教育家，中央音乐学院指挥系教授，国家一级指挥。1930 年生于江苏常州，1972年起任总政歌舞团指挥，后担任该团艺术指导至 1992年离休，1988 年至 1996 年任中央音乐学院指挥系系主任。曾担任音乐舞蹈史诗《中国革命之歌》、意大利歌剧《托斯卡》以及许多大型歌剧与舞剧的指挥。曾与中国爱乐乐团、中国交响乐团、中国广播交响乐团、中国青年交响乐团、中国少年交响乐团、北京交响乐团、上海交响乐团等专业团体合作举行交响音乐会。 徐新先生在从事音乐教育的几十年中，培养出了大批指挥人才，其中有许多人在国际及国内指挥比赛中获奖，有的在国内外著名乐团担任指挥。 徐新先生自1997年起受聘担任清华大学学生艺术团交响乐队首席指挥，并于1999年指挥乐团参加首届全国大学生艺术节非专业器乐组比赛，获得一等奖。
