一天，大灰狼和他的朋友白狼在小路上散步。又悠闲又自在。
白狼问：“亲爱的朋友，你有小鸡方面的知识吗？”
大灰狼说：“我对鸡很有研究。”他抬头挺胸，装出一副大学者的派头。
白狼说：“太好啦，昨天，一只野鸡飞进我的鸡舍，咱们去看看。”
大灰狼只好跟着白狼，一起到他家去。路上，白狼对大灰狼说：“不知野鸡下不下蛋？”
白狼的鸡舍很特别，他用木料做成许多格子，放在铺满稻草的地上。
大灰狼来到鸡舍一看，怎么每个格子里都放着一个蛋呀！白狼告诉大灰狼，格子里的蛋
叫引蛋，是引老母鸡来下蛋的，如果不放一个蛋在里面，老母鸡就会乱飞。
白狼家的鸡都是白色的黄色的，现在有一只非常漂亮的鸡，五颜六色，鸡冠又红又大，
直直地竖着。大灰狼一见，就装着很内行的说：“瞧，那就是只野鸡。”
白狼说：“是呀，我也看出了。可是这只鸡能下蛋吗？”
大灰狼不加思索地说：“当然能下蛋。”
“真的！”白狼高兴了。

在白狼家吃过饭，大灰狼就走了。其实，他心里很不踏实。他根本不知道那只鸡能不能
下蛋，也不知道那是一种什么鸡。于是他急匆匆地找到他的朋友狐狸，把那只鸡的模样详详
细细地述说了一遍。狐狸哈哈大笑起来，笑得眼泪都流出来了。
狐狸说：“那是一只公鸡，公鸡怎么会下蛋呢？”
大灰狼说：“哎呀，我真的说错了。公鸡是不会下蛋的，可是，我对白狼说了复活节那
天，那只鸡能下只彩色的蛋。这可怎么办呢？”
