我在外企工作，不会英语根本活不下去。工作中充斥着文件和email，全是英文的。办公室里又有很多老外。
学英语，就是为了更好的工作机会和发展机会吧。

Take my case, I study English just because English is a good tool to quest for the truth. Many great books are written in English. Some best articles or magazines are English.Translation loses original flavour or taste. If you really want to enjoy the great works from foreign language, you must read original works like tasting original orange juice rather than chewed one by others. English is also a window which enlarges your eyesight and enable you to know there is another different world besides your own world and different ways of living. Your culture is only a river. Outside world is a sea.

但在学习的过程中，你也会对相关的风俗，历史，文化有所了解
再加上诸如，可以泡妞，骂人，玩游戏，上百度帮别人解决问题。。等等等
