以咸宁学院体育系2005、2006届毕业生和2007届即将毕业的毕业生为研究对象。采用文献资料法、访谈法、逻辑分析法和数理统计法，对研究对象的专项选修情况和就业情况做了相关调查。结果表明：咸宁学院体育系毕业生专项选修以篮球、健美操、足球、武术选的人数较多外，其它专项选修人数较少。以篮球、足球、健美操为自己专项的毕业生,毕业后大多数人从事的工作与专业对口，就业形势较好，其它专项选修则相对较差。毕业生就业都希望到发展前景好，工资待遇高的城市工作。多数毕业生愿意从事本专业教师工作，成为咸宁学院体育系毕业生择业一个新的特点。
