The export officer ensures that goods subject to export licensing control are not shipped unless covered by an appropriate license. He examines goods for export under bond from warehouse,and goods for export under export relief or other duty remission arrangements,to ensure that all items entered for export are duly shipped and not relanded. Dutiable goods for use as ship's stores,or for sale in shops on passenger vessels,are placed in sealed storerooms to prevent their use or disposal before the ship leaves British territorial waters.
