摘要：本文针对几种常用的文本压缩算法进行总结，并对压缩率进行了一个比较且对这几种算法的优缺点进行了分析。由此针对中文文本的压缩算法提出改进，设计并实现了一种改进的LZSS压缩算法。通过测试，可以确认，提出的改进算法是有效的：相对于标准LZSS压缩算法，压缩效率有了很大幅度的提高，对于中文文本长文件，其最大压缩比已经达到20左右；对于英文文本文件的压缩效果也好LZSS算法。关键词：数据压缩； 文本压缩；压缩率；LZSS；字典
