为改善传统药膳食用上的现状，试图开发一种新型药膳――药膳汤料，作为客家药膳汤料开发的前期工作，本课题对客家药膳草药溪黄草的提取及其提取成分进行了研究。用水煎煮法和不同浓度的乙醇热浸渍法提取，通过紫外－可见分光光度法和薄层色谱比较各提取物在成分上的差异，并用感官评价的方法比较各提取物制得的药膳汤与原药膳汤的差异。结果表明，在成分上，水提取物，50％乙醇和95％乙醇提取物之间存在较大差异，但在蒸发和干燥过程中对成分的影响不大；在色泽和口味上，水提物制得的药膳汤与原药膳的最接近。通过综合考虑，确定制备溪黄草药膳汤料包最佳的提取方法是以水为提取溶剂的煎煮法，最佳提取条件为提取时间0.5小时，加水量为药材量的10倍，提取次数为3次。
