在现代企业中，采购活动是生产活动的前奏，为维持生产的正常进行，需要对采购进行有效的管理。现代企业都在由原来的市场预测型生产向订单型生产企业转型，本论文研究的正是订单型企业的采购。采购也由原来的传统采购向以供应链为背景的采购方式转变，所以对传统与供应链采购管理对比研究有很重要的意义。
本论文首先对采购管理进行了概述，对比研究了采购管理在企业中的特点、重要性。其次研究了采购管理在企业中的几个控制工具和问题分析、绩效评价等方面的内容。主要有采购规划、采购成本控制工具，这几种工具都是采购管理中的基础工具；对于采购管理中可能出现的问题都举出具体事例，并提出了解决方法；采购活动的绩效评价是采购管理的总结部分，这部分的绩效评价有利于采购管理的持续改进。最后举出实例说明了采购管理在生产企业中的重要作用。
