新概念英语第三册35课的问题

有1句：Those who seek it undertake an arduous journey and can never be sure that they will find it。
为什么SURE后面用THAT不是WHETHER?

这问题有水平，还真把我问住了，哈哈开个玩笑。
我刚才查了辞典，翻到sure的用法，然后就明白了，原来sure可以这样用，that在这里和if, whether意思接近。
辞典给的例句：Can we be sure that she's honest?
希望你继续深造，继续问些这种有意义的问题，我们大家也好共同提高，呵呵

They can never be sure that they will find it他们对于他们找到justice的这个事实从来没有肯定过。

两种用法都是对的：）
