为什么用UPON 请解释一下UPON和ON的区别

upon 和 on 在多数情况下可以通用,但有下列区别
1.表示日期时一般只用on不用upon
on Sunday,on the fifth of April
2.在某些习语中 upon与on不能互相调换
upon my word , once upon a time ,on no account ,on time, on fire
3.在句末或分句末的动词不定式后往往用upon 而不用on
nothing to depend upon , not enough to live upon
4.upon 比 on 正式 口语中多用on

on一般是静态
upon有动态.The payment will be made upon his coming.
有时候upon不能换为on,例如once upon a time.
而且upon有表示,一..就..的含义.

单从字面理解也可以，UPON中多了个UP，意思上也就多了“向上努力”含义

都可以用的..其实两者没什么大的区别.主要区别的就是词性的区别,如ON有包括\在.....之上\有关等,UPON就单一的意思在....之上
