During dinner, I suddenly have an urge to drink vinegar soup---a mixture of the water that cooked the stuffed dumplings and the leftover of the dumpling sauce,topped up with some vinegar. It dates back to the time when I was in primary (elementary) school, I could not go home during lunch break, so I went to grandma-in-law’s house for lunch. More often than not, lunch meant stuffed dumplings; although the dumplings were delicious, my favorite was the vinegar soup served thereafter. Every noon when I reached the house, I would find grandpa-in-law drinking the vinegar soup, I would eagerly rob the bowl from his hand and drink the soup with a big gulp!
