Use any of the theories discussed (eg. random diversification, Markowitz, fundamental analysis) to construct an AUD 10 million portfolio of Australian equities.
Purchase prices for all assets should be as at close of trade on Friday 10 August, 2007.
Sale prices for all assets should be as at the close of trade on Friday 12 October, 2007.
The primary objective of the assignment is to demonstrate how you have used your knowledge of Portfolio Management to make your investment decisions. The written report should therefore concentrate on
• the rationale and justification for your portfolio selection, including the number and type of equites selected;
• analysis of the nominal and risk-adjusted returns to the portfolio over the holding period
• discussion of how (or if indeed) the chosen portfolio strategy influenced the returns to the portfolio.
