interested是修饰人的感觉的
而是修饰一个物体怎样的．
如：He is interested in this interesting story.
与它用法相似的还有：excited excitng\bored boring.....

interested和interesting都是动词interest（使感兴趣）转化来的形容词。
你可以这样理解：

The game interests me. 试着把这句话改成被动句：
I am interested in the game. （所以interested是以人为主语）

而形容物就要用ing形式了
The game is interesting.
