看看这句英文有无语法错误

Too much time and money is spent by teenagers on video games nowadays.
主要是那个is那里不清楚。如果单是time或者money的话是用is，但是这两个用and连接后该怎样？

"are" Two things.
By the way I feel "wasted" is better than "spent"
