英国英语和美国英语的特点

The pronunciation of British English is somewhat more artificial than that of the American English. In addtion, the American and English may use differnet words tto express the same thing. For instance, if you want to use a word to express the place near the road only for people, you could use pavement in British English or sidewalk in American English. Moreover, the meaning or the spelling of some words are also different in the above-mentioned two English forms, such as colour, which is the standard spelling in British while color is the well-accepted spelling in American English. Of course, there still exist many slight difference, but I think it's needless to list them one by one. In a nutshell, there are so many differences between the British English and the American English. Nonetheless, the future tendency must be the combination of these two forms.
