contain指被作为组成部分而被“包含”或“容纳”在内。
including和include指作为整体中的一部分而被包括进去。

简单的说就是contain是全部的，而including是一部分。。。

举例说明：This atlas contains 40 maps,including 3 of the Great Britain.

该句中，前一句指该地图册包括40张地图，是指一共40张;后一句是指这个地图册中又3张是英国的，只是一部分而已。
