关于none but的用法的问题 急~~

我知道none but 是只有的意思，后面跟名词。
但是我想问，如果我想加从句是用that 引导么？
例如，只有对学术诚实的一贯追求，才能引导我们成功。这句话该怎么翻译？
None but that we are in pursuit of intellectual honesty that can lead the way to success?
这么翻译对么？我怎么觉得别扭啊~~

另外none but 和 nothing but有区别么？

这句怎么样，没用none but：
Only through longterm pursuit of intellectual honesty can we be led to success.
none but 应是已知或特定范围内的人或事物，如None but one in the class knew the answer；nothing but 则没有范围，指事物不指人: Nothing but money can make him happy.
