boxes
box可数名词，前面又有many，后面要加复数，别被答句迷惑了

又如，--How many desks are there in the room?
--There is no desks in the room.
不管事实有没有 或者只有一个，提问数量时都用复数的。

How many (boxes) can you see?
I can see noly one.

问的时候问的人并不知道有几个么。。不是根据回答来确定的。。要是用 box ，那他知道就一个，还问干嘛。。
