摘要：信用证（Letter of Credit-L/C)结算方式是银行信用介入国际贸易结算的产物，它的出现不仅在一定程度上解决了买卖双方之间互不信任的矛盾，而且还能使双方在使用信用证结算货款的过程中获得银行资金融通的便利，从而促进了国际贸易的发展。因此，信用证被广泛应用并成为当今国际贸易中最普遍、最主要的结算方式。本文从不同的法律角度出发，对国际信用证业务作了剖析，归纳了了信用证具有特殊性质合同、附条件的付款承诺以及独立抽象原则三大法律性质。
