沟通与协调关系是秘书工作的重要职能之一,秘书协调在领导工作、机关工作和秘书工作中都占有重要地位,具有重要的现实意义。在实际工作中,领导亲自协调具有很强的权威性和有效性,但领导者的主要任务是搞决策,因而不可能事无巨细,事必躬亲。这就需要秘书人员发挥其参谋助手作用,参与或领导授权承办沟通协调任务。秘书沟通协调就是领导活动的延伸与补充,有利于领导工作的正常运行。秘书部门处于机关的枢纽位置,承担协调任务,辅助领导化解矛盾,理顺关系,可以提高机关工作质量和效率,也拓宽了秘书工作的领域,有利于提高秘书工作的水平,强化秘书部门的参谋助手作用,推动秘书工作向深度和广度发展。随着信息科技进入社会组织,社会组织形态正在逐步向着网络式组织形态发展,这就势必要求秘书对传统的人际协调观念、思维方式和方法进行新的突破和发展。
