应该是

The word tragedy implies that something terrible has happened.

3楼的改法虽然语法是通的,但意思很不一样.
我改的句子是可以单独成立的:

"悲剧"这个词的意思便是指可怕的事情已发生了.

他改的意思变成:

这个词悲惨地指出可怕的事情已发生了.

而这个句子不能单独成立的,你前面的句子一定得已经把这个"悲惨"的修饰词讲过以后这个句子才有意义,要么读者便一头雾水,"what word?"(你在讲哪个词呢？）.本人认为前一个例子逻辑来说要通得多,第二个句子有点多此一举/别扭。

应该是

“发生”是个瞬间动词，不能用完成时。如“what happened to you?”，而不能说“what has happened to you?”

The words tragically implies that something terrible has happened.

tragedy 是个名词，此处应用副词。
那话语悲惨地指出一些可怕的事情发生了。
happen可用于完成时，只是它无被动语态。那位仁兄可能记错了。
