I was trying not to push her away even more by being critical of her.

这两句话都正确吗？表达的还是一个意思？还是有一句是错误的？
主要是不了解这里by的用法，到底是try sth by 还是侧重于push...by。

1）I was trying not to push her away even more by being critical of her.
我不想因为我的苛刻而让她感到更加隔阂(或者是有距离感）。

2）I was trying not to push her away even more by being kind to her.

我不想因为我的诚恳而让她更感到隔阂。

3）try to do sth by being...
这是你应该关注的结构..

应该是第一句正确，当然是try sth by 了，我是这样认为的，仅做参考
