做阅读时碰到的:Before the new millennium is many years old.
看了后面的翻译答案,只把他译成"在不久的将来"，请问应该怎么理解他？

每一千年就是一个millennium. 所以比如说现在2000年就是“new millennium"因为它是“最新的一个千年”。在2008年，2000年就是8 years old. 比如说如果你觉得10年不算是很多年，那么2010年的时候这个千年才10 years old，所以2010年就是before the new millennium is many years old。 所以Before the new millennium is many years old可以解释成不久的将来。
