Item: 625720 [220-0551-00] Sample #5 Final Assembly and test done in Hillsboro with sub assembly[coil only] made in Zhuhai.
Defect: Open Circuit voltage (OCV-turns test) on S4 winding indicates out of tolerance voltages for winding to tap (S4S-S4T), and winding to winding (S4S-S4F). The OCV indicates 100 turns versus the required 99 turns for S4S-S4T, and 200 turns for S4S-S4F.
Cause: Part was shipped to customer because during engineering test the OC value was not noticed to be out of tolerance. That in turn was caused because the form used did not contain the upper and lower limits only the nominal value.
Note: For production the process is to do the turns testing after laminating. This part was laminated in Hillsboro production, but tested by the engineering group, as it was a sample. In order to verify turns prior to shipment from china a turns tester (YG-108R) was used and found the sub assembly #5 acceptable (report was provided with sample
