Extended Delivery Area
The final stage of the printing process is the extended delivery area.
The extended delivery area begins from the coating unit through the dryer and onto the delivery table . The delivery system pulls the printed sheet from the Coating Unit and transports the sheet through the dryer and releases it on the delivery table .
The paperboard enters the dryer after it leaves the Coating Unit ,The ink,solvents and coating are still wet at this time. Once inside the dryer, the paperboard is subject to a volume of high velocity ,heated air .The dryer doesn’t actually dry the ink but assists in removing the solvents in the ink .The dryers also help to quickly dry the aqueous coatings that are applied over the ink .
