With a long history since its foundation in 1910, the College of Horticulture is strong in teaching, research and development of horticulture in the regions of tropics and subtropics. The past Professors Wen Wen-guang, Li Pei-wen and Huang Chang-yen were a few of the outstanding founders from the former National Sun Yet-Sun University and Linnan University.

Students are enrolled from 18 provinces of the country. In 2007, eight directions of three majors are provided. The majors are Horticulture, Tea Science, and Protected Horticultural Science and Engineering. The directions are Floriculture and Landscaping Design, Horticultural Biotechnology, Storage and Logistics in Horticultural Produces, Seed Science and Technology, Protected Horticulture, Tea Arts, and Tea Processing and Trade. Until March 2007, 1283students are studying for their Bachlor’s degrees and 214 students for Master’s (184) and PhD degrees (30).
