the other修饰其它词，怎么能单独使用呢？
其实我是在IBOX学习机的语法文章上看到的，它说可分the other ,the others,other ,others。而the other和other修饰名或代词，可是~~~它的例句中明显很矛盾

the other是指代，在这个情况下不能作为定语的成分理解，所以后面不用跟要修饰的部分。因为句子开始给出了范围，所以这里the other指范围内未被提及的其他部分的所有个体

不可以单独使用吧.

这里是代词

把东西分成两部分

一部分叫XXXX

另一部分就叫 the other
