1825年，法国有一个做衣物染料买卖的生意人叫裘利。一天，他在家中打扫卫生时，不小心打翻了桌上的油灯，灯油溅的到处都是，还弄脏了他妻子最喜欢的那块桌布。

后来，经过认真研究之后，裘利在自己的工厂里试用这种清洗方法，结果取得了非常好的成效。以前，用肥皂和水洗衣物很容易让衣物变形、褪色，但这种新式的洗衣法不仅能把衣物洗得干干净净，还能避免义务变形，因此大受人们欢迎，并被命名为“干洗”、1855年，裘利在巴黎开办了世界上第一家服装干洗店，并且很快就风靡全球。
千百年来，衣服脏了总是用水来清洗，此外就再没有别的办法了，在裘利发现干洗方法之前，人们也许从在没有想过，不用水竟然也能清洁衣物。其实，我们的身边存在这很多很多的“不可思议”与“想不到”。而这些都是在等着我们去大胆怀疑和认真探索的。
