As an internet-dependent financial service, online banks face operation risks under their internal auditing that are different from those of traditional banks. Operation risks for online banks have been a constant topic full of all challenges. For years, such risks have not caught enough attentions from financial institutes, and as of such, no mature risk management techniques have been formed. This paper will start with a clear understanding of these operation risks, and analyze relationships of internal auditing vs. operation risks, and the status quo of today's online banks' internal auditing. It makes a few recommendations as to how to improve the internal auditing and to prevent the operation risks.
