Abstract: Nowadays, the retailing supermarket has became an indispensable part of our lives. XX supermarket, as an independent small supermarket, must strength its own management so as to survive in the numerous supermarket. Meanwhile, it must response timely to the fast-changing market, and reduce inventory costs and improve the competitiveness of its enterprises through effective inventory management.
This paper has five parts except the introduction and conclusion. The first part gives a systematic exposition for some related conception and theories of the inventory management, and clarifies the main role of inventory in retail sector and its importance in inventory management. The second part analyzes Yanjiang supermarket's present operation situation and the level of inventory management, and to find some actual instability problems such as lagging inventory management approach and unsteady inventory and so on during the process of supermarket management.
