汽车在中国形成了独特的消费观、使用观及养车观。这是一种全新的汽车文化,一种与西方世界迥然不同的汽车观念。身处中国时,我们不觉得自己的汽车观念有何不同,但如果拿出来与西方用车观念一比较你就会发现两种汽车文化的差异是如此之大。
经过三十年的改革开放,国内私家车也已经比较普及了。但轿车对国人来说,仍还是身份地位的一个象征。买车的人,大多并不全是为了代步,而是作为一种精神享用品来彰显自己的能耐与成就。老百姓也很认同这种价值判断,但凡买得起车的人指定是有钱的,而买得起高档车的人更是非大富即大贵,不是普通一般人。但在欧洲,轿车似乎没有这种在意识形态所具有的特异功能,只是普通的代步工具而已。开奔驰的可能是工薪族,开帕萨特的却指不定是大富翁。
汽车在西方有一百多年的历史,,汽车在他们眼中,仅仅只是一种方便地把自己从A点带到B点的工具而已。在欧洲,父母亲送给孩子的“成年礼”往往是一辆破旧的二手车,孩子们虽然不以为然,但也会欢呼不已。
在中国,上幼儿园的朋友都会互相炫耀自己家有车并且是什么牌的高档轿车,难道从上幼儿园就要为家里没有车而抬不起头吗?而且许多家庭宁可存够钱,一次到位买辆全家人都满意的大车,也不愿意将就地买一辆小车作为过渡。
在美国,超过80%购车者采用分期付款,在中国,一次性付款是购车者的普遍选择,经销商也推荐这种方式,绝大多数的促销方案都是针对一次性付款买车者
