词汇学的对象

词汇学之所以是一门独立的学科，因为它拥有独特的研究对象——词。语音学只研究语音，语义学只研究语义，但是词不是语音和语义的简单的加合，它是语音和语义的统一体。孤立的研究词的声音和意义都不能解决词的本质问题，不能代替词汇学，不能因此取消词汇学的独立性。语法学以词为基点、出发点，研究把词组织成句子的学问，它不能代替词汇学。

词汇学的重要是因为它的研究对象的重要。词是人类最宝贵的财富。词贯串人的一生，每时每刻。词联系着人的各个方面的生活。词是人类各种学问的要素。词是许多学科～哲学、心理学、逻辑学、历史学、人类学、民俗学、论理学、美学、文艺学、社会学等关注的要点。但是只有词汇学关注的是词本身。
词汇学的研究对象，西方学者说：词汇学有时用来指对一种语言词汇的总体研究(包括其历史)；对词义的心理语言学研究(如空间关系的语言表达)称为心理词汇学。词汇学区别于词典学，后者是词典编撰的技艺和科学。词典学因此可以视作“应用词汇学”的一个分支。“词汇学家”这一名称不太常用，对词汇感兴趣的人一般也称为语义学家。

Phonetics just examines sounds, semantics just examines the meaning of words, but words are not a simple coming together of sound and meaning, they are an entity of sound and meaning. Isolated study of sound and meaning can't solve essential word issues. It can't replace
lexicology. So, the independent character of lexicology should not be abolished. Syntax has the word as its basis and starting point. It is a learning that examines sentences formed by words, and can not be replaced by lexicology.
