第一章研究的是90年代以前中国美术的趋势
80年代以前，中国美术单一，而且没有生气。特别是毛泽东时代的美术。这个时代没有美术自由氛围，美术大部分是为政治服务的工具。而且背离了传统美术。认为传统美术的是糟粕。但是，为了方便的宣传，版画得到了突飞猛进的发展。
中国因为和苏联有着相似的社会制度，所以观念形态也相似。因此，受到了很多苏联美术的影响。不仅科学技术，美术也受到了苏联很多的影响。美术思想，技法也迅速的苏联化。现在也留有相当多的影响。
第二章研究的是因美术形式的登场。
改革后出现了新美术思想，自由美术氛围重新复苏，开始逐渐脱离六七十年代以政治思想为中心。改革开放以后，西方现代美术进入。人们开始接触西方现代美术。由于西方现代美术的影响，本国美术和西方现代美术互相结合，新美术形式开始形成。学习现代美术和传统美术的回归是同时开始的。官方美术思想占主导位置，逐渐开始背离以官方美术思想为中心。美术的多样性构成开始形成。
新美术形式的先装和展望
中国传统美术的回归不仅能用美术思想体现，而且也现在了美术语言上。美术家们尝试各种新方法。这个时代中国美术表现形式和技法出现了空前丰富的情况。概念美术成为背叛中国传统美术和毛泽东时代美术的象征。传统的美术精神，思想，材料，表现形式都受到了挑战，美术家们正在积极地探索。
最后打算通过论文研究作品。中国传统美术和西方现代美术互相结合，以便研究更多的表现形式。
