ABSTRACT

Objective: To determine whether post-reduction x-rays(后精简X光) add additional clinically important information over what is seen on pre-reduction films in patients with shoulder dislocations. Methods: Prospective study from 6/1/99 to 12/1/2000 of consecutive emergency department patients presenting with closed shoulder dislocations. Patients were excluded if both pre- and post-reduction films were not obtained. The shoulder reduction technique used was left to the discretion of the treating clinician. After attempted reduction, the clinician reported whether or not he/she was confident that the shoulder had been reduced. Post-reduction films were then obtained. An attending radiologist who noted the presence of dislocations and/or fractures reviewed radiographs. The radiologist was blinded to the post-reduction film until
